Obama: Rocket Man

Barack Obama has already electrified America, now he is electrifying the world.

Obama has wowed world leaders in Afghanistan, Iraq, Jordan, Israel, Palestine, and Germany . Even John McCain has followed his lead in calling for more troops to fight al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan; President Bush has changed his 6 year policy to comply with Obama’s by sending a high level diplomat to negotiate with Iran: and Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki has supported Obama’s 16 month withdrawal program from Iraq.

Obama’s trip reached a crescendo when he spoke before 200,000 wildly enthusiastic Germans in Berlin . All in all, it was an impressive week.

But what was John McCain doing while Obama was the center of world attention? Well, McCain was addressing a handful of people in front of a supermarket cheese display, no doubt impressing them with his expertise on Tillamook, Limburger and Cheddar.

Tom,

In answer to randomly emphatic questions:

Tom's Question: Are these people completely uninformed????
Answer: Nope. It only seems that way because you think one-dimensionally. And these “evil pornographic right-wingers” are thinking three-dimensionally.

Tom's Question: Don't they know anything about the issues????
Answer: Yes. But so much so that it all seems improbable and a bit overwhelming.

Tom's Question: Are they completely ignorant????
Answer: No. But we do stay pretty focused on the themes from your original blog, and aren't so heavily into name calling so the suggestion we have limited intellectual range and are lacking "knowledge" is purely a defense mechanism for the insecure.

Tom's pithy observation: Maybe they are completely disfunctional!!!!
Answer: I assume you mean dysfunctional - and while yes, that is possible, it is more likely you are projecting again. Which we understand – and thus – do not mind.

Saying you are leaving the discussion because "you guys are idiots" and staying in the discussion comes off a bit ... well ... needy.

Finally, overusing question marks and exclamation points does not make your questions more penetrating nor does it make your exclamations more convincing.

Dear ptepoorten, just a suggestion. Avoid starting your messages with, "Just so I'm clear." It should by obvious to everyone, by now, that you are not clear about much.

Just so I'm clear: no matter what you happen to be posting on at the time, "right-wing conservatives" are only allowed to participate if they are prepared to discuss any and all perceived failures of the Bush administration?

Sooo...these "posts" are really just a means to trick people into thinking you actually want to discuss the topic at hand. See, I never thought of it that way. When I put up a post it is usually with the intent that readers will stop by and weigh in on the subject matter which I have presented them. But you...you have taken the format to a level of such clever subterfuge and nevermindthepostery I can stand only in awe.

You have really exposed those right-wing conservatives for what they are: subject fascists! So Brilliant and diabolical, only a right-wing conservative could have fallen for it.

The trash talkers are still hallucinating. Words, words, hundreds of words....but not a single word defending the tragic record of the Bush administration. I have challenged them over and over, but they make up poems, jingles, trash talk, anything to distract, but.......no substance. Are these people completely uninformed???? Don't they know anything about the issues???? are they completely ignorant???? Maybe they are completely disfunctional!!!! Take heart, there is always room for you in the Bush administration.
To tell you the truth, I haven't heard a single word from these bozos that makes any sense at all. Sorry, guys. I like a little chatter like everyone else, but you have to act like you at least have the I.Q of a toadstool to get me to continue this discussion.
Let's put it this way...When , and if, you can add anything of substance to the conversation,
I may return. But if I continue to enter into this senseless psyco-babble, with you, I may get so confused and incoherent, I run the risk of turning into a right-wing conservative. That would save me the effort of thinking, but I would get bored from not getting anything accomplished.

Tom,

A question: Do you write the blogs and make your 6 year old granddaughter write childish replies to commnents in your name? If you do, I am impressed with her typing and language skills, if you don't - you sure can't 'bring it'.

People post relavent comments about your blog's and you spew pre-digested liberal rant, pap and cant and disjointed diatribes. They are almost never on topic, because you would actually have to have your own thoughts & beliefs to cheerfully handle the challenge. You remind me a lot of Sprocket Man Obama who is very articulate when reading off the teleprompter, but without it - well let's just say the chain tends to fall off the Sprocket. Sprocket Man is educated, but he isn't a thinker.

I admit that I am not sure about Joey's posted lyrics of Elton John's song Rocket Man, except for the line:

"And all this science I don't understand
It's just my job five days a week"

Which frankly sounds most applicable to Al Gore.

In any regards, you are getting your butt handed to you - but you must not mind holding it in your hands. Keep ranting, keep thrashiing, keep waving your arms about wildly. You aren't fooling anyone and you aren't landing any punches.

The lastest polling data that ptepoorten mentioned is intersting and counter-intuitive to the whole "Rocket Man" theory, and thus a useful injection into the discussion. You comments on that would have been interesting - but I guess polls of Minnesotan (you know - American) folks ain't your cup of tea.

Perhaps you are way too European to lower and demean yourself with news from the colonies. Say "hi" to the King and the Kaiser for us little people ... now about that tax on tea ... that could cause some problems ...

Jeebus Tom, you are one unstable individual. Seriously, an embarrassment to the site.

Get a grip.

Typical right-wing responses, all mouth and no brains. Eventually these Limbaugh-like creatures will mutate into grotesque monsters with tiny, pin heads containing no brains at all,and enormous mouths which have a direct connection to their rectums so that they may spew their filth directly from the source. I am not sure if I should label conservative political discourse, "oral flatulence," or simply "pornography" because it has no redeeming social value.
These are pathetic impersonators of wind
bag Limbaugh. I wonder if their knuckles drag on the ground when they walk? One good thing, it certainly shatters the myth of white supremacy once and for all. It's obvious they aren't perceptive...they apparently can't recognize how pathetic and laughable they appear. Now, if we can get them to wear clown suits with large red and pink polka dots, a tall, pointed cap, and a bright red ball for a nose, the picture would be complete. Pinheaded clowns, one and all....how appropriate.

Ummm. Ya. Obviously you are the last person to learn that al Maliki contradicted the latest Obama gaffe. Furthermore, al Maliki DID say that withdrawal should be dictated by events on the ground.

Of course, there's no way you could have known that. And it is certainly beyond the pale to think you were aware of it and went ahead and published an untruth intentionally.

Most likely this perfectly understandable oversight occurred because you were so busy salivating over St. Barack you just didn't have time to get your facts straight before publishing your latest Ogasm.

Meanwhile, McCain (who has suddenly closed a 17-point gap in Minnesota) was campaigning for Americans, in America. But I'm sure there's no connection.

It was probably just really, really, good cheese.

She packed my bags last night pre-flight
Zero hour nine a.m.
And I'm gonna be high as a kite by then
I miss the earth so much I miss my wife
It's lonely out in space
On such a timeless flight

And I think it's gonna be a long long time
Till touch down brings me round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh no no no I'm a rocket man
Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone

Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids
In fact it's cold as hell
And there's no one there to raise them if you did
And all this science I don't understand
It's just my job five days a week
A rocket man, a rocket man
