The So Called President As Disruptor

Category: Donald Trump
Posted: 02/05/17 23:22

by Dave Mindeman

So called President Trump seems to be so focused on stopping every possible bad guy coming into our country, that he has forgotten some very basic things about who we are.

Of the thousands of people that enter on visas or refugee status or simple immigration, there is little evidence that ANY of them (I mean zero) are actual terrorists. None of them.

All the terrorist activities that have befallen the United States have come from radicalized individuals who succumb to the false message of hate and mistreatment. Most of the Muslims that were involved were born here and find a message that doesn't treat them like second class people.

But not all of the horrific attacks are done by people radicalized. A number of them are white supremacists, or racists, or religious zealots...but we don't alter any of our policies regarding them. Nothing changes because some crazy with a gun goes on a rampage. In fact, Congress seems to be more than willing to make firearms more easily accessible for them.

But in Trump's zeal to make us believe that we are safer by restricting Muslims is the very real fact that he is disrupting the lives of hundreds and thousands of law abiding people. People who have the legal right to be here. People that have undergone serious scrutiny already and have the papers to prove it.

Those people are kept from their families. Kept from research projects. Kept from going to universities. Kept from teaching classes. And kept from doing important work at US corporations.

Trump makes no provisions for that. He wants us to believe that he has protected us from his own imaginary threats and ideas.

It is not right and it is not an American value. Trump is targeting innocent people and why the Republican Congress does not object is beyond comprehension.

Trump is much more of a problem to many people in this country then any terrorist could hope to be. Terrorism wants to disrupt our lives but as long as we have Trump as so called President, their disruption is already in place.

The Destruction Of Mike Pence

Category: Donald Trump

Watching Mike Pence is cringeworthy. He has obviously sold out. His contortions on defending the actions of the President are pretzel worthy..and getting very tiresome.

Doesn't he have an opinion of his own anymore? We were told that he has principles. That he does not blow in the wind.

But apparently that is completely wrong.

Trump uses Pence as just another mouthpiece. A KellyAnne Conjob if you will. He can't possibly agree with Trump on Constitutional grounds, yet there he is, on all the talk shows, contorting and twisting like Houdini.

Pence defends the ban. Pence defends Trump's friendship with Russia. Pence defends disparaging judges. Pence ignores the GOP treatment of Garland.

Pence is a sellout of epic proportions.

Does Pence get something out of this? Is this purely to maintain his position as Vice President? Is he the President in waiting?

Whatever Pence is doing, it is damaging him for future endeavors. His convoluted defenses of all things Trump is going to come back to haunt him when he escapes the shackles he seems to be under.

Trump is poison. The Republicans who hold steadfast to this lunatic, will find it difficult to escape his drag on their careers.

Remember. We are taking notes.

Trump's Neocon Response To Iran

Category: Donald Trump
Posted: 02/03/17 16:20

by Dave Mindeman

This seems like a familiar line of reasoning....

The United States accuses an Arab nation of aggressive actions. The US also states that sanctions have again been placed on that country for violating agreements. The White House makes accusations of new weapon related actions by the Arab nation. The President and senior advisers warn this Arab nation that they are monitoring the situation and are on heightened alert.

We seem to be posturing for war.

No, this is not Iraq under George W. Bush. This is Donald Trump in the first 2 weeks of his Presidency making threats against Iran.

It is a very neo-con type reaction. Almost as if they are looking for a reason to take us into war against them. Heighten the rhetoric. Make a more aggressive posture. Look for an opening that can justify an attack.

Trump's idea of being tough is looking more like the neocon pre-emptive strike policy. Trump is taking the dangerous step of provocation. He is daring Iran to make an aggressive move - to give him the excuse.

Our sailors in the Persian Gulf are virtual decoys. Trump wants the Iranian gunboats to do something...anything..against our ships.

I hope that all the Trump lovers out there are prepared for this, because a wrong move here and the entire gulf could erupt into war. The dominoes of aggression are poised to fall - and our President does not seem to care about the consequences.

This is stupid.
