Palin: Interview Watch Awaiting "Respect and Deference"

Category: Sarah Palin

The Sarah Palin media interview watch continues. We have a new condition for any interviews with the Alaska Governor:

Davis (Rick Davis, McCain campaign manager) says Palin won't give any interviews until she feels "comfortable" giving one. And this morning he added that she wouldn't give any "until the point in time when she'll be treated with respect and deference."

Come on media, all bow before Queen Sarah so that she may speak.

Seriously, if she is going to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency, are we supposed to believe that she only speaks to the media when she is "comfortable"?

Who Is Sarah Palin?

Below is a link to letter that is circulating around the web. It is written by a long time resident of Wasilla, Alaska. She lists a very detailed biographical sketch of Sarah Palin. It delves into many of the public policy items that have been discussed recently.

What are her motivations? At the end of the letter she says this:

First, I have long believed in the importance of being an informed
voter. I am a voter registrar. For 10 years I put on student voting
programs in the schools. If you google my name (Anne Kilkenny +
Alaska), you will find references to my participation in local
government, education, and PTA/parent organizations.

Secondly, I've always operated in the belief that "Bad things happen when good people stay silent". Few people know as much as I do because few have gone to as many City Council meetings.

Third, I am just a housewife. I don't have a job she can bump me out of. I don't belong to any organization that she can hurt. But, I am no fool; she is immensely popular here, and it is likely that this will cost me somehow in the future: that?s life.

Fourth, she has hated me since back in 1996, when I was one of the 100 or so people who rallied to support the City Librarian against Sarah's attempt at censorship.

Fifth, I looked around and realized that everybody else was afraid to say anything because they were somehow vulnerable.

She is a real person -- she was interviewed by MPR (they had a report and interview with her today). She had sent it out to some friends but it has circulated much furthur than that. Her phone has not stopped ringing.

I will let the letter speak for itself -- check it out.

Palin Speaks -- No Questions Please

Governor Palin continued in "victim" mode as she spoke to Republican Governors today.

She criticized Democrats for spreading "misinformation and flat-out lies" about her and her family.

Her spokesperson did admit that the Obama-Biden campaign themselves were not part of this problem, but that didn't stop Palin from using them in her fundraising letter alluding to all these attacks.

But the last sentence of the article is the key to how the McCain-Palin ticket will be operating:

She did not take questions from reporters.

How long will that go on?
