Sometimes people say scary things. President Reagan said the eight most frightening words were:"I'm from the government and I'm here to help." For the voting populaton John McCain said about his choice for vice president, "Sarah Palin was a better candidate than Mitt Romney." OMG.

I'm a lousy prognisticator but I can't resist a few quick predictions.

1) Obama wins both electoral college and popular vote. 309 electoral votes. Let's just say the popular vote will be close.

2) Klobuchar will crack 60%.

3) Nolan wins...rest will stay the same. 5-3 Dem in House.

4) MN Legislature: Senate turns Democrat - 36-31. House could go either way, but think it will end up Democrat also: 68-66.

5) US Senate - Democrats hold 52-48. US House - Stays GOP, but Dems gain 7 seats.

6) Constitutional amendments - Marriage fails. Voter ID barely passes.

7) Upset: Shelley Berkely wins Senate seat in Nevada.

8) Dark horse possibility: Graves beats Bachmann

One thing for sure...it will all end tomorrow (or a close proximity to tomorrow).

Although it looks very unlikely that the Democrats can retake the US House of Representatives tomorrow, there is one thing that Minnesota can do to help fix the gridlock.

Elect Jim Graves.

I don't mean that Graves can fix the system, but his presence will say something loud and clear. Michele Bachmann is gone.

Bachmann has thrust herself into national politics...whether they wanted it or not. And her visibility disappearance can be the biggest asset that a Graves election can take to Congress.

It is a powerful message and coupled with Tammy Duckworth's almost sure win over Joe Walsh and the possible loss of Allen West in Florida will greatly diminish the Tea Party obstruction in Congress.

It won't fix everything, but if Obama wins, it will change the tone.

And boy, do we need that.
